MSU students stage a demo'

October 27, 2017Panashe Gomendo

Midlands State University students crowding the students accounts department on Tuesday and later staged a demonstration against decision by the administration that all unregistered students were not going to write the end of semester examinations for the year 2017.

What instigated this was that students whose debts were dating long back to the last semester of 2016 were told to bring fees statements at the registration offices. The Vice Chancellor Prof  V. N Muzvidziwa was invited to address them at 3 p.m but didn't show up. The students felt like it was now up to them, who later went to his office and staged a demo.

They protested until 5pm thus when they were told that they were going to write but the students demanded for proof until the notice was on the University's website. The decision was later rescinded the same way WHO does after protest from the Students Community (SRC) and the University issued out a public notice on their website, and the students dispersed away. The Demo was a success! Congrats to the brave MSU students.
